Joelle said this about planning the party- “I had an amazing time designing and styling a baby shower fit for a little baby princess for a wonderful friend!
I created this pink and gray vintage baby shower for my co-teacher, Jenny. She and I taught first grade together for a few years. Throughout the years, she has been my confidante, friend, and supporter at school. My friend Jenny is a sweet, caring, thoughtful, and amazing teacher. Next year, she will stay home with her darling baby girl, Whitney, as she begins this new journey in her life. Although I will miss her terribly next school year, I am glad she will get a chance to be home with her little one.
For this party, almost everything was handmade: from the deliciously pretty sweet treats and their containers, to the delicate decorations and treat box favors, and the lovely invites for this event!
I really wanted to incorporate pink, girly tutus into my design. To create the treat table, I custom ordered a gray damask vinyl backdrop to set the mood for a vintage, feminine, and elegant treat table. I think it worked well with the pink and gray vintage theme. I spray painted an Ikea picture frame with a light, cotton candy pink color and cut the baby girl silhouette with my cutting machine. I tied yards and yard of strips of light sparkly pink tulle to create a fluffy tutu table skirt, which matched my tutu-inspired treat table treats!
I used upside-down boxes, that I tied with silver satin ribbon, for the treat risers. I had a net that draped over the treat table from Ikea, and I think it added a little bit of a dreamy and princess-feel to our table.
Food/ Drinks: We had Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken, meatballs, and chicken salad croissants for our lunch. For our treat table, we had vanilla cupcakes with handmade cupcake toppers, tutu onesies sugar cookies, pink and silver and white tutu vanilla cake, tutu cake pops. I absolutely LOVE the pink tutu sugar cookies! We also had caramel popcorn in pink and white popcorn boxes, and strawberry cheesecake cups with silver spoons in them.
Drinks were lemonade and looked adorable in the mason jars with the daisy lids and matching pink paper straws. I cut a silver baby bottle vinyl design to put on the drink jar. I created a vintage-inspired pink and gray invitation that I displayed on the drink table.
We had a fantastic time spending together as women and celebrating our dear friend Jenny! We are excited to meet the new addition to the Wood Family. We love her!”
